RULES & IMPORTANT INFORMATION FOR SCHOOLS
Participation in the quiz implies that all individuals and everybody in the school and associate with the school agrees to be bound by the rules.
Each school can enter one team
The team must be made up of 4 students,
The team must all be within the age bracket of either 8 to 11 or 11 to 14 years of age.
During the Heats and Finals the team may access the What On Earth! magazine at any time, but no other resource, publication or data source may be used except by specific permission from the Organisers
The questions shall only be answered by the team members and they may not be assisted by other students, teachers or adults.
Participation indicates agreement that the Organisers may use any information and data for promotional purposes including sharing with their partners.
Participation indicates agreement that the Organisers may screen grab, photograph or video or audio record all participants and supporters and that such records belong to the Organisers and may be used without restriction.
The participants are required to take part in surveys and questionnaires and may be asked for quotes and comments.
The Organisers accept no responsibility for technological or digital difficulties, in particular for the failure of any quiz submissions.
Any adjustments or special requirements must be informed to the Organisers at least 7 days before they are relevant and the Organisers will make reasonable effort to accommodate such requirements although they carry no obligation.
The Organisers reserve the right to make changes to any published information.
The Organisers decision is final and no correspondence will be entered into.
Each school that gets through the on-line heat and attends the Live Finals Day in London is entitled to a travel bursary.
The bursary is calculated using Google Maps and is based on road mileage from the Finals venue to the school address:
0 to 50 miles £80
51 to 100 miles £200
101 to 200 miles £300
201 to 300 miles £400

Timetable
The On-Line heats will take place between Wednesday 1st and Friday 3rd November. The times are to be confirmed. Please allow approximately an hour for participation.
From the on-line heat, 8 schools will be chosen to go forwards to the live Finals day in London
The Finals day will be all day on Monday 27th November and will take place in Stationers’ Hall. Ave Maria Lane, London, EC4M 7DD. Details available nearer the date.
Supporters, families, FRIENDS and schoolmates are encouraged to attend the Finals day to cheer their team on! You might like to consider including a Team Reserve.
PRIVACY STATEMENT
We, the Organisers take your privacy very seriously and are committed to protecting your personal information, in whatever form it takes, including digital information.
In taking part in the What On Earth! Quiz, your contact details, including your name, school name, school postal address, email address and telephone number will be retained in order to enable us to communicate with you as the Quiz progresses, but also to enable us to contact you in subsequent years in relation to the Quiz, but for no other purpose.
We may ask you to complete questionnaires or surveys before or after the Quiz. The data collected by such questionnaires or surveys will only be used by us to make sure that we can improve the quiz and other services in future years.
