Over the last few years we have run our nationwide quiz event to celebrate non-fiction November! This is the culmination of online heats with the questions all taken from specially selected magazine sets. The finalists of the Junior and Senior heats then came from all over the country to Stationers Hall, London, to compete head to head in a tough day of quizzing with the grand final being a Senior vs Junior fast finger challenge. The Juniors won!!

What a fantastic experience! A fun way to test your brain Great fun, a chance to test out our knowledge and work together! Here at XX we have loved being involved in the What on Earth! Magazine School Quiz Competition! It's created a buzz and proven to be lots of fun for all involved. Being a remote school, we loved the opportunity to compete with schools around the country. The magazine quiz was absolutely awesome fun! It was great fun! The What on Earth! Magazine quiz was nerve wracking but very exciting!! Can't wait to take part again next year. In-house Quizzing for you:
What on Earth! magazine offers bespoke quizzing for schools and other educational establishments.
Raise the levels of literacy and increase oracy by running a quiz that is tailored to your needs and based on the magazine. It might be a half day event, a programme across an academy chain, or a competition across an entire city. Quizzing with What on Earth! is a wonderful way of involving all the students in a target group and ensuring that all the pupils are able to compete on a level playing field, regardless of ability or life experience.
CASE STUDY:
Shireland Collegiate Academy took the lead in a project involving thirteen primary schools, all based in the midlands. The schools are able to enjoy shared experiences based around the magazines, with all the students participating in two rounds of online heats at the end of 2O24 and in the spring of 2O25. The cumulative scores from the teams will decide the teams for a live final which will be held at Shireland before the close of the summer term.
What on Earth! have designed the programme and provided the reference material for the quizzing, as well as running the heats and the final, which will include exciting fast finger rounds as well as team rounds based on observation, listening and comprehension.
